Nothing could be finer...

Nothing could be finer than a day in Carolina. My cat "Bunnie" really exemplifies this. It is a beautiful day here today and she is in the sun porch drinking it all in. She loves to sleep in the sun. Bunnie is deaf so when she is asleep she it OUT!

I had an hospital volunteer luncheon to go to so there was not much sewing for me today. My friends Jackie and Dee were selling tickets for an opportunity to win a beautiful quilt that Dee had embroidered and Jackie quilted. I will see if I can get a photo of that quilt. Monies for the quilt will benefit the scholarship fund that the volunteers give out to kids getting their applied science degrees.

Happy Columbus Day

that is all that I can remember.

Today I had to spend time with my dear old friend, my sewing machine. I always write "remember to thread your needle every day" and I mean it. I love my parents and it is fun to see new places but I feel out of sorts if I do not sew a little something. I am trying to finish up a quilt that I am making for my dear brother in law. He likes to go bowling. I found some neat bowling fabric at Mary Jo's but I did not know what I was going to do with it. My friend Paulette came to Colonial Quilt Lovers to teach Deb Tucker's "Rapid Fire Hunter's Star" using one of Deb Tucker's rulers.

I had a lot of fun piecing this quilt. It was fast, fun and easy! Best of all I knew how I was going to quilt it. It usually takes my longer to figure out how I am going to quilt something than to make it. Luckily this quilt spoke to me.

Back in North Carolina

I am back in North Carolina! I was gone for a week to visit my parents in Michigan. The Fall colors were beautiful. While I was in Michigan I went to Uncle John's Cider Mill. I used to go by it all the time when I would drive from my college C.M.U. (go Chippewas!) to my sister's college M.S.U. I thought I would share some pictures of my trip to the cider mill. I really wanted to go through the corn maze but you can see from my picture it was a little disappointing. The corn was a little low so I could see where I was going. It still was a fun day.
I am teaching a Halloween mantel scarf at What's Your Stitch n Stuff this week. I am looking forward to the class.

Halloween is in the air

Seven Pines is very well known in Elizabeth City for being a haunted house. October is my favorite month in North Carolina. The weather begins to cool down and it is not as muggy. This weekend is Elizabeth City's annual ghost walk. Seven Pines is not on tour this year but I like to decorate because we get many people passing by. I just decorated my Halloween tree outside on my porch. I also like to decorate inside as well. This is a photo of my mantel scarf (which I will be teaching at What's Your Stitch n Stuff on October 15th)

Welcome to my new blog

Welcome to Sevenpines Quilting!
I am new to the blogging world and I thought that I would give it a try. My name is Robin and I am a Quilt teacher. I have been quilting for over 25 years and I love to share my love of quilting with the rest of you. This is a picture of my house which is called Seven Pines. I will be teaching at a Different Touch in Norfolk this Saturday, so today I was busy making copies for my class on Machine Quilting.
